Liguria's wines are easy to love. Whites made here have a crisp, clean, mineral quality that is quintessentially Italian, and they are fantastic pairings for crab, sole, and other light seafood dishes. Great ones can be had for prices in the mid twenties, making them perfect for dinner parties or seafood cookouts.

Reds are lesser known but equally deserving of appreciation. Light to medium bodied Rossese is the perfect antidote to the dense, full bodied reds that many regions specialize in, and Grenache and Cinsault do well, with a lighter personality than in the Languedoc and Southern Rhone.
